A friend who knows I am soon getting some new chicks forwarded this link to me. We heard Jim Adkins speak at last year’s Organic Growers School Workshops in Asheville. His website and blog, The International Center for Poultry, has some good information about raising “standard” breeds of chickens for sustainability. His website includes several classes being held in North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Oregon.
Jim is very knowledgeable and passionate about the survival of heritage breeds of chickens.

Ok! That is just awesome!
I need to go to his workshops soon!
We’ve had chickens (in Alabama) and need to know more about the colder care here.
Thanks for sharing!
Excellent, that’s for sharing! I’m looking into getting some pullets.
